Clean Beauty Mecca Follain Closes Its Knox Location

In mid-September, Follain‘s bright and airy Dallas storefront hosted a re-opening celebration to welcome in-store shoppers for the first time in nearly six months. Now, just over a month later, the store is shuttering again–this time for good. Follain Dallas was one of six locations for the clean beauty retailer and its only storefront in Texas. In addition to Follain’s own skincare line, the shop stocked haircare, skincare, and beauty goods from cult-favorite brands like Herbivore and Ursa Major. Ulta and Anthropologie locations across Dallas-Fort Worth will continue to stock Follain Skincare, but the Knox District storefront’s unparalleled selection of natural beauty brands will be missed.

Uncommon James Is Set to Open in Deep Ellum

Kristin Cavallari’s lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, just announced plans for a Dallas outpost, set to open in spring 2021. Founded in 2017, Cavallari’s line of jewelry, accessories, and home goods also has storefronts in Nashville and Chicago. Uncommon James will occupy 3,000 square feet of retail space in Deep Ellum; the press release cites HUF Worldwide and Patagonia as nearby shops, so a Main Street location is likely. “We are excited to establish Texas roots in the dynamic Deep Ellum neighborhood,” says Cavallari, who is both the founder and creative director of Uncommon James. “I can’t say too much yet, but this particular store is going to be something special, bringing to life new opportunities in our ever-growing UJ brand.” Follow @uncommonjames for more details.

Openings and Expansions at Highland Park Village

Highland Park Village is welcoming new tenants and expanded storefronts just in time for the holiday season. FRAME Denim’s permanent location, nestled between Bird Bakery and St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange, is now open and stocked with men’s and women’s apparel, leather goods, and accessories. La Ligne, a womenswear brand created by three women who worked at Vogue and Rag and Bone, will open in November; the storefront will house the brand’s French-inspired striped sweaters and tees. On November 13, Bluemercury will host a grand reopening of its remodeled HPV location, which now offers twice as much square footage and even more beauty and wellness finds. This location will also carry M-61 Skincare and Lune+Aster, two beauty brands developed by Bluemercury’s founder and CEO Marla Beck. Keep up with Highland Park Village happenings at @hp_village.
