We are in full holiday mode, so give yourself a little holiday merriment with a taste or two when you’re purchasing gifts for your loved ones. Here are a few ideas to taste this weekend and next.

Tonight from 5p-8p at Sigel’s on Greenville they will host an engraving event featuring Johnny Walker, Grey Goose and Jack Daniels bottles available for personalization, and special selections are on sale also.  Also all weekend at the Greenville location of Sigel’s ALL WINE is on sale for 20% off…all wine…everything from Miner to Neyers, to Chateau Montelena to Chateau Cheval Blanc.  Only at the Greenville location and only for this weekend.  If you can’t make it to the engraving event tonight it will also happen tomorrow at the Fitzhugh location from 5p-8p.

Dallas’ Fuqua Winery will have their silver medal award winning Coco’s Cuvee on sale for 15% off through Saturday.  The Barbera, Sangiovese, Sryah blend just won the silver medal at the 2012 American Wine Society Competition.  Visit their tasting room located behind the Home Depot on Lemmon Ave to try all of the Fuqua wines, and owner/winemaker Lee Fuqua will sign a bottle for you.

Lakewood Brewing Company sold their first beer just four months ago and since then have grown exponentially.  Stop by their Garland brewery for a tour of their brewery on Saturday afternoons and try four tasty selections or visit dozens of local establishments to try their delicious craft beer.

Landon Winery in McKinney will host an educational wine tasting on Thursday evening diving into why a specific variety tastes the way it does, tasting through Landon’s delicious Texas wines with proceeds from the tasting and any bottles sold benefiting Ability Connection Texas, a non-profit that helps those in need with the ability to live independently.  Details and tickets here.

And on December 18 from 8pm-1am the North Texas Bartenders Guild and a group of our most loved bartenders in town (including Jason Kosmas, Michael Martenson, Eddie “Lucky” Campbell) will partner with Glazer’s Distributing for a one night only pop-up cocktail party at St. John’s Wood The Standard Pour for a wonderful cause, Trigger’s Toys, started by Bryan Townsend, Southwest Regional Manager for The Cooper Spirits Company, the makers of St-Germain, Creme Yvette, Slow & Low.  Bryan started Trigger’s Toys with the help of his sweet and intelligent yellow lab, Trigger, who had partnered with local hospitals in their Animal Assisted programs, giving children the chance to interact with loving pets while at the hospital.  The positive impact was overwhelming, leading him to start Trigger’s Toys, with main purpose to bring additional joy to the lives of hospitalized children with toys, therapy items, and visits from Trigger and other animal assisted dogs in local hospitals.  Details here.
